Early balloting has a double-decision vote for District 84

Early voting is underway today in Lubbock for the November 2nd election on candidates as well as on a local 198 million school bond issue. You can make your early voting choices until 8 p.m. at United Supermarkets as well as at the County Elections office at 1308 Crickets Avenue, plus other locations. Voters living in  District 84 have the unusual choice of voting twice in that district’s race. This is a result of Gov. Rick Perry’s having called a special election November 2nd for that district because of the early vacating of the seat by former State Rep. Carl Isett. The candidates for District 84 will appear on the ballot twice–first for the Special Election and a second time for the November 2nd General Election.
