Sun Harvest Farmers Market Opens

A large crowd was on hand Wednesday for the opening of a new store on Lubbock’s south side. 

“I got here about 6:15,” said one of hundreds of early morning shoppers at Sun Harvest Farmers Market, located at Kingsgate Center, in what used to be a United Supermarket. 

“Sun Harvest is all about freshness,” said Janet LIttle, spokeswoman and nutritionist for the store.  “What you’ll see is 25% of our store is dedicated to fresh produce.  We’re all about natural.  We have probably the largest supplement department…this is where you want to shop if you want to eat healthier and save money.”

This is the first Sun Harvest in Lubbock, the ninth in Texas.
