Police seek sex offender in aggravated child assault case

Lubbock police are searching for a missing sex offender. Forty-five-year-old Roy Dale McWhorter is listed in the DPS public sex offender registry as having “absconded” on August 2^nd. He was sentenced in 1992 to 11 years in prison for aggravated assault of a 7-year-old girl. McWhorter is described as a 5-foot-10 white man with blond hair and blue eyes.
