Obama administration holds Gulf coast jobs ‘hostage’–Cornyn

Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn says jobs in the Gulf coast are being held hostage by the Obama administration’s failure to lift the drilling moratorium. Cornyn was critical of the moratorium in a statement issued following an announcement by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on offshore oil and gas operations. Cornyn said, quote:  “The Administration offers no answers, no certainty months after the shutdown of this vital Gulf industry. Americans are still waiting for them to make good on their promise to help improve our economy.” Cornyn called the drilling moratorium “unnecessarily devastating” to people out of work in Texas and elsewhere along the Gulf coast.
