No indictment against Lubbock teacher accused in pot case

A Lubbock High School teacher who had been accused of possessing marijuana will not be tried. Grand jurors yesterday declined to indict 24-year-old Trent Nickerson after the district attorney presented evidence directly to the panel. However, Nickerson’s roommate, 24-year-old Christopher Andrew Scott was indicted for possession. Marijuana plants had been discovered in a locked back room of Nickerson’s house in the 2800 block of 57^th Street on September 3^rd. Firemen discovered them when called to deal with a fire at the residence. LISD officials were to discuss today when Nickerson would be allowed to return to teaching.
