Youngster is shaken up in kiddie roller-coaster accident at the Fair

The parents of a 3-year-old who went to a hospital after an accident on a kiddies’ roller coaster ride at the Panhandle-South Plains Fair are not pleased with the midway operator’s handling of the situation. Kayli Minaldi’s foot was banged up Saturday night when a cart on the “Go Gator” ride went over the side of the rails. The child was in a cart behind the off-track cart and banged into it. Kayli’s parents say emergency workers suggested they take her to the hospital. She was sent home with an ice pack. The family was told to fax the medical bill in two months to the company that owns the ride, Miller Spectacular Shows. Kayli’s father Joey Menaldi said, quote: “It sounded to me that they were trying to put me off so that they can skip town.” The owner of the operation, Freddy Miller, said he has sent a claim to his insurance company and adds that safety is the company’s number one concern. He adds that the “Go Gator” ride was cleared, is safe, and is running again.
