Rawls to Serve as 2010 Tech Homecoming Grand Marshal

One of Texas Tech’s most notable benefactors will serve as this year’s homecoming parade grand marshal.

Jerry S. Rawls will serve as the 2010 homecoming parade’s Grand Marshal on November 6th. Rawls has donated generous amounts to Texas Tech for both the current business school and the new college of business building, in addition to funding Texas Tech’s Rawls Golf Course.

Rawls, a Tech mechanical engineering graduate, is the president and CEO of Finisar Corporation, based in Sunnyvale, California.

Other notable grand marshals include former Tech Lady Raiders Basketball Coach Marsha Sharp and former Governor Preston Smith.
