“I’ve always been somebody that’s stepped in when there’s a leadership void.”
That’s how John Miller, a candidate for county judge, described himself during an interview with KFYO, and he added that there is definitely a leadership void on the commissioners’ court.
Miller is a former Democrat, and he says he’s a fiscal conservative, too conservative for the Democratic Party, so he’s running as an independent, with doubts about the conservative credentials of County Judge Tom Head.
“He’s not a fiscal conservative,” Miller said. “All you got to do is look at the growth of the county government. I see next year’s budget growing by $9 million. I see the growth of number of employees in the county tripling over the last 6-7 years.”
Miller served almost 30 years in the military, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, and is now a business owner.
