Landtroop: Heflin Is Not The Conservative He Says He Is

“There’s just a completely different mood out there, among the voters and among the people.”

That’s Republican Jim Landtroop on Lubbock’s First News on KFYO, explaining why he thinks this year will be different than 2006, when he was defeated in the race for state rep, District 85, by Democrat Joe Heflin.  Once again, his opponent is Heflin, and on KFYO, Landtroop was asked to give an example of how he would have voted differently if he had been in the House the past four years.

“My opponent voted to give illegal immigrants free health care….taxpayer funded health care,” Landtroop said.  “It’s not free.  We’re paying  for it, and I wouldn’t have done that.”

Landtroop said Heflin is not the conservative makes he himself out to be.
