Tuberville: Raiders can’t be good until they develop a running game

Texas Tech’s Red Raiders failed to muster much of an offense Saturday night against Texas, and Coach Tommy Tuberville says the team won’t be good until their running game improves. The once-explosive Raiders had only 168 yards passing and minus 14 yards net rushing in their 24 to14 loss to the sixth-ranked Longhorns. Tuberville told sportswriter Don Williams afterwards, quote: “As I’ve told all of you, we’re not going to be a good football team—and you can’t win championships—unless you can run it.” Tuberville said the team won’t keep throwing it 70 or 80 times—he doesn’t intend to give up on improving the running game.
