Microchips for pets to be offered tomorrow

City of Lubbock Animal Services will offer to install microchips for dogs and cats at tomorrow’s Arts and Crafts Festival at the Garden and Arts Center. The center is located at 4215 University Avenue. Volunteer coordinator Linda Cox said Animal Services will be installing the chips for a 10 dollar fee. Microchips are inserted  beneath the skin of the back of the necks of pets. Then if the animal is lost, it can be scanned when found for an assigned number.  Cox asks that owners bring dogs in on leashes and cats in carriers. Proof of residence is required. That can be a bill or similar document showing name and address.
