Fifteen Tech students are arrested for alleged stealing from construction site

Texas Tech University is expected to issue a statement today about the arrest of 15 Tech students who are accused of stealing lumber from a South Lubbock construction site. Police tracked them down after getting a call on Labor Day about people stealing from the Lee Case Construction site at 105th Street and Quaker Avenue. They ranged in age from 17 to 20 and were reported to be members of the fraternity Beta Theta Pi. Officers responding to the call located young men in three different vehicles loaded with supplies suspected to be stolen. The 15 arrested spent Monday night in jail before being released late yesterday. They are charged with theft and organized crime.
