There could be delays on I-27 approaching the Lubbock airport

Labor Day Holiday travelers take note, especially those of you planning to go by air. There will be possible driving delays on Interstate 27 for the rest of this week out toward Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.  TxDOT has closed I-27 main lanes at the Regis Street overpass. Detouring traffic to the frontage roads began yesterday. The lanes will remain closed for a couple more days as crews replace concrete on the bridge… Meanwhile, the closure of University Avenue at 38^th Street should be a thing of the past today. Crews were expected to finish yesterday repairing a water main break that happened earlier this week.
