Water Consumption in Lubbock Increases

Through 11 months of the current fiscal year, water consumption by residents and businesses served by the City of Lubbock is up 2.3 percent compared to this point in the prior fiscal year.

In raw numbers, the 2.3 percent increase equates to 240,362,500 additional gallons of water, with total usage at 10.8 billion gallons.  Of the 10.8 billion gallons of water used, 2.1 billion is from the City of Lubbock’s wells in Bailey County.

Looking at the big picture, the city’s current water consumption compared to the 5-year water usage average, is down 3.5 percent, a change of 392,882,600 gallons.
