Woman found dead in car recovered from lake

Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was recovered from a car which sank a lake at Buddy Holly Park. The victim, identified as 43-year-old Diane Lopez, was in a tan Thunderbird which was reported submerged in the water around 8:45 last night. The vehicle was finally pulled from the water around 10 last night. One person reportedly had jumped into the water in an unsuccessful attempt to rescue whoever was in the car. Police said several 911 calls came reporting the incident. The car reportedly had been parked in the park area for some time, then began rolling into the lake.
