Five teachers from New Deal have been selected along with others from eight states to fly an experiment in microgravity this weekend at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. NASA and the National Science Teachers Association chose teams of high school teachers and students from Texas, Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, Missouri, New York, North Carolina and Washington to be involved in the event. NASA says the teams will be able to experience flying in a reduced gravity environment. The event will have the teams involved in scientific research, hands-on design work, and test operations aboard a modified Boeing 727 jetliner.
