Better Business Bureau: Utah firm is not the accredited Lubbock firm.

The Better Business Bureau of the South Plains is warning Lubbock consumers about a Utah-based home security company which has prompted widespread complaints and which has a name similar to a local security company. The bureau says Pinnacle Security of Orem, Utah, has no connection to Lubbock-based Pinnacle Protection, which has an A-plus rating with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB has been told that representatives of the Utah firm have contacted some Pinnacle Protection of Lubbock customers about upgrading home security systems. The BBB says Pinnacle Security of Utah falsely claims to be accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and has been the target of complaints by several state attorney general’s offices and other government agencies. More than 1,250 consumers complaints have been filed against the company nationwide, including 169 from Texans.
