Visitor reports theft of his wallet with 8,000 dollars at a Lubbock store

A man visiting Lubbock from California reports that a girl stole his wallet with 8,000 dollars while he was inside a Walmart store. According to KAMC-28, Dominic Menaldi said the girl grabbed his wallet Thursday and took off. In his words: “She reached out and grabbed my wallet and she just started running. I mean you’re in the middle of a Walmart, you know, so you don’t really think someone is going to rob you at Walmart.” Menaldi said he had to money to help pay for food for a nephew’s wedding. When the girl got away, Menaldi and several witnesses called the police. Walmart’s security cameras caught the theft, but would not release the tapes to KAMC. Store officials said they were cooperating with the police investigation.
