One of the two inmates who escaped from the Terry County Jail yesterday has been apprehended.
Terry County Sheriff Larry Gilbreath tells KFYO News how they got 23 year-old Cornelio Zepeda Delgado back in custody: “Well, he came walking in this morning (at) about 12:30 and surrendered. We haven’t interviewed him yet. Of course I asked the (Texas) Rangers to investigate this (escape).” Sheriff Gilbreath also tells KFYO News steps are being taken to prevent another escape: “Jail Commission Inspectors were here yesterday afternoon and we sat down. They, looked at what we got here and what occurred. We’re working with them to try to correct some issues that we feel like we need to address.”
Authorities in Texas and New Mexico are still searching for the other escapee, David Lee Rodriguez.
